The Vertiv Liebert APM2 90kVA is a modular, scalable three-phase uninterruptible power supply designed to deliver continuous power protection for medium to large enterprise data center environments. Built on a modular architecture, the APM2 cabinet houses independent power modules that can be added incrementally, allowing organizations to begin at a lower installed capacity and expand in-field as IT load grows—without requiring downtime or additional floor space beyond the original cabinet footprint. Each power module operates autonomously, so the failure or removal of one module does not interrupt the remaining active modules, providing a high degree of system-level resilience.
The APM2 90kVA operates in a true online double-conversion topology, which isolates connected loads from all input power anomalies including sags, surges, frequency variations, and harmonic distortion. This topology maintains a regulated, clean output at all times, making it suitable for sensitive server, storage, and networking equipment. The system supports an input power factor close to unity and delivers low total harmonic distortion on the input side, reducing stress on upstream generator and distribution infrastructure. An integrated bypass capability allows maintenance activities to be performed on power modules while the load remains energized through the static bypass path.
Deployment flexibility is a core design principle of the APM2 platform. The cabinet architecture supports hot-swap battery modules in addition to hot-swap power modules, allowing battery capacity and runtime to be adjusted independently of UPS power capacity. Communication interfaces including SNMP and Modbus enable integration with data center infrastructure management (DCIM) platforms and building management systems, giving operations teams real-time visibility into load levels, battery state of health, and system events.
