The Juniper Networks PTX10008 is a refreshed high-density core router chassis engineered for the most demanding service provider and large enterprise backbone environments. Built on Juniper's Express silicon forwarding ASICs and tightly integrated with the Junos OS, the PTX10008 supports up to 800G coherent DWDM optics natively, collapsing the traditional IP-over-optical stack and dramatically reducing the number of physical network layers operators must manage. The chassis accommodates eight line card slots with a fully non-blocking switching fabric architecture, enabling massive aggregate throughput while maintaining deterministic low-latency forwarding at scale.
