The ExtremeSwitching 7520-48XT is a carrier-class, high-density 10G aggregation and campus core switch engineered for large enterprises, higher education, and service providers requiring massive throughput with deterministic latency. It provides 48 x 10G multi-rate (100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G) copper ports paired with 8 x 400G QSFP-DD uplinks, yielding a total switching capacity exceeding 7.2 Tbps. The 7520 series leverages Broadcom's Trident 4 ASIC for wire-rate forwarding with deep buffer capabilities.

The 7520-48XT runs ExtremeXOS and supports the full suite of Extreme Fabric Connect, EVPN/VXLAN, and segment routing capabilities. Its hardware-based telemetry pipeline supports INT (In-band Network Telemetry) and sFlow for granular traffic visibility exportable to ExtremeAnalytics or third-party SIEM platforms. Full MACsec support at 400G ensures encryption without performance penalty at all uplink interfaces, which is critical for regulated industries.

Designed for resiliency, the 7520-48XT supports ISSU (In-Service Software Upgrade), dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies, and N+1 fan modules. Its ExtremeCloud IQ integration enables predictive maintenance analytics using streaming telemetry, reducing unplanned downtime in backbone network infrastructure. The switch is TAA compliant and supports Open Networking standards including OpenConfig and gRPC telemetry.
