Acer Altos R380 F5 2U Rack Server

The Acer Altos R380 F5 is a 2U dual-socket rack server built on the Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake/Sapphire Rapids generation) platform, designed to address mainstream enterprise datacenter needs including virtualization, database hosting, and cloud-native applications. It supports two 3rd or 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors and up to 4TB of DDR5 ECC registered memory across 32 DIMM slots, providing substantial headroom for memory-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases and large-scale containerized environments.

The chassis accommodates up to 24 front-accessible 2.5-inch SAS/SATA/NVMe drive bays, complemented by onboard RAID support through an optional HBA or RAID controller. Dual redundant 80 PLUS Titanium-rated power supplies ensure high availability, while the integrated Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) with IPMI 2.0 and Acer's own ASOM (Altos Server Operations Manager) software provides out-of-band remote management, hardware health monitoring, and lifecycle automation.

Expansion flexibility is a hallmark of this platform: seven PCIe Gen 5 expansion slots support high-bandwidth networking adapters, NVMe-oF HBAs, and GPU accelerators for inference workloads. The platform is certified with major hypervisors including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, making it a versatile choice for mixed-workload datacenter deployments.
