The Toshiba MG10F Series represents the latest generation of Toshiba's enterprise-class helium-filled hard disk drives, delivering 22TB of raw capacity on a conventional magnetic recording (CMR) platform. Built around a nine-disk helium-sealed mechanical architecture, the MG10F leverages reduced internal drag and lower operating temperatures to achieve a sustained data transfer rate of up to 267MB/s while maintaining a 7,200 RPM spindle speed. The 12Gb/s dual-port SAS interface provides two independent host connections simultaneously, enabling active-active multipathing configurations critical to enterprise storage arrays, SANs, and RAID enclosures where path redundancy and continuous availability are non-negotiable requirements.

The MG10F Series is purpose-built for write-intensive and mixed-workload environments commonly found in hyperscale data centers, nearline storage tiers, backup and archive repositories, and object storage platforms. With a 550TB per year workload rating and a five-year design life, the drive is rated for 24/7 continuous operation under demanding enterprise conditions. Launched in Q2 2025, the MG10F Series builds on Toshiba's proven MG Series lineage by pushing per-drive capacity to 22TB without sacrificing the CMR write-mode predictability that enterprise storage administrators rely on for RAID rebuild consistency and data integrity. The drive supports both SED (Self-Encrypting Drive) and non-SED configurations, with optional FIPS 140-2 compliance for regulated industries. Features such as persistent write cache, sanitize instant erase, and T10 PI (Protection Information) end-to-end data path protection make the MG10F a comprehensive solution for mission-critical storage infrastructure deployments.
