RUCKUS ICX 7850-48FS Aggregation Switch

The RUCKUS ICX 7850-48FS is a high-density aggregation and campus core switch engineered to deliver wire-speed 25GbE access uplinks combined with high-capacity 100GbE uplink connectivity. Built on a single-chip architecture, the ICX 7850-48FS provides 48 × 25GbE SFP28 ports and 8 × 100GbE QSFP28 uplink ports, yielding a total switching capacity of 3.2 Tbps with a forwarding rate of 2.38 Bpps. The platform supports deep buffer memory to accommodate bursty enterprise and data-center traffic patterns, and delivers Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) compliance to reduce operational power consumption in production environments.

The ICX 7850-48FS integrates seamlessly into the RUCKUS ICX stacking ecosystem, supporting RUCKUS ICX linear and ring stacking topologies that enable up to 12 units to be managed as a single logical switch—simplifying operations at campus core and data-center edge tiers. The switch runs RUCKUS FastIron OS, providing comprehensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 feature sets including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VRF-lite, PBR, and full IPv6 routing support. Hardware-based VXLAN gateway capability, multi-chassis LAG (MC-LAG), and advanced QoS with strict-priority and DWRR scheduling make it suitable for converged voice, video, and data workloads.

Designed for enterprise campus core and data-center edge deployments, the ICX 7850-48FS supports redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and hot-swappable fan modules to meet always-on availability requirements.
