The NVIDIA Mellanox MMS4X00-NM is a 400G OSFP single-port NDR InfiniBand transceiver engineered for single-mode fiber infrastructure using DR4 parallel optics. The module breaks the 400Gb/s aggregate signal into four 100Gb/s lanes transmitted simultaneously over eight single-mode fiber strands (four transmit, four receive) via an MPO-12 interface, enabling data center interconnects that extend beyond the reach limitations of direct-attach copper or active optical cables. Operating at 1310 nm across its four lanes, the transceiver is purpose-built to complement NVIDIA Mellanox NDR 400G InfiniBand switch and adapter hardware.

Designed for high-density, high-performance compute environments, the MMS4X00-NM supports the NDR (Next Data Rate) InfiniBand generation delivering 400Gb/s per port, which doubles the bandwidth available compared to HDR 200G deployments. The OSFP (Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable) form factor accommodates the high lane counts and power requirements of 400G operation while maintaining practical port density in modern switch and host channel adapter lineups. The module integrates digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM/DOM) so network operators can observe real-time optical power levels, temperature, voltage, and bias current without disrupting live traffic.
