The Juniper 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 Transceiver (JNP-QSFP-100G-LR4) is a high-density, single-mode optical module engineered for 100 Gigabit Ethernet transport over standard OS2 single-mode fiber. Leveraging LR4 architecture, the module multiplexes four 25Gbps lanes across four distinct wavelengths in the 1295–1310nm range using coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM4 lane grid), then aggregates them into a single fiber pair via an integrated MUX/DEMUX, delivering a full 100Gbps aggregate data rate. The QSFP28 form factor ensures compatibility with high-density line cards on Juniper QFX Series switches and MX Series routers, enabling operators to maximize port density without sacrificing reach.
Designed for data center interconnect (DCI) and enterprise campus backbone applications, the JNP-QSFP-100G-LR4 supports a maximum reach of 10km over standard G.652 single-mode fiber without the need for external amplification. The module conforms to the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-LR4 standard, ensuring broad interoperability within standards-compliant network environments. An LC duplex fiber interface provides straightforward integration with existing structured cabling plants, and the module operates within standard QSFP28 electrical and thermal envelopes, supporting plug-and-play deployment on compatible Juniper platforms introduced from 2017 onward.
