The Inspur NF5266M6 is a 2U compute-storage hybrid server that combines dual Intel Xeon Scalable 3rd Gen processors with 24 front-accessible 3.5-inch large-form-factor drive bays and 2 rear 2.5-inch bays for system drives. This configuration makes it the ideal hardware node for software-defined storage platforms such as Ceph, GlusterFS, VMware vSAN, and Nutanix, where co-locating compute and high-density spinning-disk or SSD storage in a single node reduces rack footprint and cabling complexity.
The NF5266M6 supports a flexible drive backplane that accepts either 3.5-inch SAS/SATA HDDs or 3.5-inch-to-2.5-inch SAS/SATA/NVMe adaptor carriers, giving operators freedom to mix HDD capacity tiers with NVMe performance tiers within a single node for optimal cost/performance tuning in Ceph CRUSH topologies.
