The Cisco 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 Transceiver Module (QSFP-100G-LR4-S) delivers 100 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over standard single-mode fiber using four independent 25 Gbps lanes multiplexed via LAN WDM (LWDM) wavelengths centered at 1295.56 nm, 1300.05 nm, 1304.58 nm, and 1309.14 nm. The module conforms to the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBASE-LR4 standard and achieves a maximum reach of 10 km on OS2 single-mode fiber, making it well suited for inter-building, inter-rack, and campus-scale optical links where extended reach beyond short-range optics is required.

The QSFP28 form factor supports a line-rate throughput of 100 Gbps in a compact, hot-swappable package compatible with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and ASR platform line cards that expose QSFP28 ports. The module incorporates an LC duplex connector interface and operates within a case temperature range that accommodates standard data center environments. Cisco's digital optical monitoring (DOM) capability is supported, enabling real-time visibility into transmitted and received optical power, supply voltage, and module temperature directly through network management tooling.
