The APC NetShelter Metered Rack PDU 2G ZeroU 32A 230V (AP8853) is a second-generation, zero-rack-unit metered power distribution unit engineered for high-density data center and server room environments. Designed to mount vertically in the zero-U space at the rear of standard 600mm or wider open-frame and enclosed racks, it delivers up to 32A of input current at 230V single-phase via a IEC 309 32A blue input connector, providing up to approximately 7.4kW of usable power capacity. The unit features real-time current monitoring at the inlet level, displayed on an integrated LCD screen, enabling operations teams to maintain accurate power load visibility without requiring external metering infrastructure.

The AP8853 is equipped with 42 IEC C13 and 6 IEC C19 output receptacles, offering flexibility to support a broad mix of standard 1U and 2U servers alongside higher-draw networking, storage, and GPU-accelerated compute appliances. The metered 2G platform introduces enhanced firmware capabilities, including support for the APC EcoStruxure IT ecosystem for remote monitoring, as well as SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and Modbus TCP protocols through a dedicated network management card slot compatible with APC AP9641 or AP9643 Network Management Cards (sold separately). This network-enabled architecture allows integration into enterprise DCIM platforms and enables proactive threshold alerting.

Built for operational reliability in always-on enterprise environments, the AP8853 includes a durable steel enclosure with toolless vertical mounting brackets compatible with APC NetShelter and most third-party 19-inch rack systems. Its ZeroU form factor preserves all standard rack unit space for IT equipment, making it particularly well suited for fully populated high-density racks where every rack unit is at a premium. The unit ships with a detachable input cord and is designed to operate across an input voltage range of 200–240V, supporting deployment flexibility across European, Middle Eastern, and Asia-Pacific facility standards.
