Built around a non-blocking switching fabric with a 176 Gbps total switching capacity, it provides wire-speed forwarding across all 48 RJ45 ports — 40 of which support PoE+ (802.3at) and eight of which support PoE++ (802.3bt) — delivering a total PoE budget of 600W. The unit additionally offers four 10G SFP+ uplink ports for high-throughput inter-switch or uplink connectivity, making it well suited as an aggregation layer device in multi-switch UniFi deployments.

At the software level, the USW-Pro-48-POE integrates natively with the UniFi Network application, enabling zero-touch provisioning, per-port PoE scheduling and monitoring, VLAN segmentation, 802.1Q tagging, RSTP/MSTP spanning tree, link aggregation (LACP), and flow control — all managed through a unified graphical interface without requiring a separate controller appliance. Layer 3 capabilities including static routing and inter-VLAN routing allow the switch to handle routed distribution roles, reducing dependence on an upstream router for internal traffic segmentation.

Designed for 1U rack installation, the switch operates within a standard data center or IDF enclosure and includes a built-in dual-core processor with dedicated packet forwarding hardware to sustain line-rate performance under load.
