The TP-Link TL-SM5110-SR is a 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver module designed for short-reach, high-speed optical connectivity in enterprise and data center environments. Built to the IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR standard, the module operates over OM3 and OM4 multi-mode fiber at an 850 nm wavelength, delivering 10 Gbps full-duplex throughput through a duplex LC connector interface. The hot-pluggable SFP+ form factor ensures compatibility with the broad ecosystem of SFP+-capable switches, routers, and network interface cards that adhere to the SFF-8431 and SFF-8432 MSA specifications.

The TL-SM5110-SR is engineered for structured cabling deployments where OM3 or OM4 fiber is already in place, offering a reach of up to 300 m on OM3 and up to 400 m on OM4 fiber — distances well suited to within-building backbone links, top-of-rack to end-of-row switch interconnects, and inter-floor campus runs. The module incorporates Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), also known as Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), enabling real-time reporting of transceiver operating parameters such as temperature, supply voltage, transmit bias current, transmit optical power, and receive optical power directly through the host system's management interface.

Designed for operational reliability in production network infrastructure, the TL-SM5110-SR supports a standard operating temperature range and is compliant with RoHS environmental directives.
