NetApp BlueXP Unified Control Plane

NetApp BlueXP is a unified control plane that consolidates the management of NetApp storage and data services across on-premises, hybrid, and multicloud environments into a single SaaS-based console. Built on a canvas-driven interface, BlueXP discovers and inventories NetApp ONTAP clusters (AFF, FAS, ONTAP Select, Cloud Volumes ONTAP), Azure NetApp Files, Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, and Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, enabling administrators to operate heterogeneous storage estates from one pane of glass. BlueXP integrates a broad catalogue of NetApp data services directly within the console, including BlueXP Backup and Recovery (formerly Cloud Backup), BlueXP Replication, BlueXP Tiering, BlueXP Classification (powered by Cloud Data Sense), BlueXP Digital Wallet, BlueXP Edge Caching, and BlueXP Ransomware Protection. These services share a common identity and access management layer based on NetApp identity federation with enterprise IdPs via SAML 2.0, and role-based access control (RBAC) governs which users can view or modify resources within defined workspaces and accounts. The platform exposes a REST API and supports Terraform provider integration for infrastructure-as-code workflows, making it suitable for DevOps-oriented operational models.
