The Intel Xeon Gold 6542Y is a 24-core, 48-thread server processor built on Intel's Emerald Rapids microarchitecture, fabricated on Intel 7 process technology. It operates at a 2.9 GHz base frequency with a maximum Turbo Boost frequency of 4.0 GHz and carries a 60 MB Intel Smart Cache. With a 250 W TDP, it delivers a balance of sustained multi-threaded throughput and power envelope suitable for cost-sensitive mainstream enterprise deployments launched in December 2023.

The 6542Y supports dual-socket configurations via UPI 2.0 interconnects, enabling scale-out without the overhead of high-end platform requirements.
