The Inspur AS13000G5 is a distributed scale-out NAS and object storage platform based on Inspur's own InStorage OS, designed to scale from 3 nodes to hundreds of nodes in a single namespace. The system provides unified access via NFS v3/v4, SMB 3.x, S3-compatible object, iSCSI, and HDFS protocol gateway, making it a versatile shared storage platform for mixed enterprise and analytics workloads. Each node is built on a 2U chassis integrating compute, networking, and storage hardware, enabling a true hyper-converged storage architecture.

The AS13000G5 generation introduces NVMe-accelerated all-flash and hybrid configurations. Pure NVMe nodes deliver sub-millisecond latency for random I/O intensive workloads such as AI training data sets, high-performance databases, and EDA environments, while hybrid nodes combine NVMe caching tiers with high-density SAS/SATA HDDs for cost-effective warm-data and archive tiers. The platform supports automatic tiering between NVMe, SAS SSD, and SAS HDD tiers based on configurable heat-map policies.

Data protection options include erasure coding (EC) profiles from 4+2 to 16+4 and traditional N-way replication, allowing administrators to tune protection overhead against usable capacity.
