The HPE MSA 2062 16Gb Fibre Channel SFF Storage (R0Q81A) is a dual-controller, entry-level SAN array engineered for small and medium-sized businesses and branch data centers requiring reliable, high-performance block storage without the complexity of larger enterprise platforms. Built on HPE's MSA Gen2 architecture, the system ships with two active-active controllers, each equipped with dual 16Gb Fibre Channel host ports, delivering up to 4 host connections per controller pair. The MSA 2062 supports a hybrid storage model, combining SSD and SAS drives within the same enclosure to balance performance and capacity, and includes HPE SSD Read Cache as a standard capability to accelerate frequently accessed data automatically.

The system accommodates up to 24 Small Form Factor (SFF, 2.5-inch) drive bays in the base enclosure and can be expanded with additional MSA drive enclosures to reach up to 96 drives across the storage pool. It supports SAS HDDs, SAS SSDs, and SAS SED (Self-Encrypting Drive) variants, enabling organizations to address both performance-intensive and capacity-focused workloads within a single system.
