The Dell PowerEdge XE9680 is a 2U, dual-socket GPU server purpose-built for large-scale AI model training and inference workloads. It accommodates eight NVIDIA H100 Tensor GPUs in a high-density configuration, delivering 6.4 petaFLOPS of FP8 compute performance and 1.46 TB/s aggregate GPU memory bandwidth. The system integrates dual 4th-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 60 cores each, paired with 2.56 TB of DDR5 memory and NVLink GPU interconnect fabric for optimized multi-GPU communication.

The XE9680 features 12 dual-port ConnectX-7 400GbE network interfaces for distributed training at scale and supports direct liquid cooling or air cooling configurations to manage thermal output from eight concurrent H100 GPUs. PCIe Gen5 fabric enables sustained high-bandwidth I/O to GPU accelerators while maintaining enterprise-grade redundancy, hot-swap components, and out-of-band management via iDRAC.
