The Cisco Secure Firewall 1010, commercially identified by part number FPR1010-NGFW-K9, is a purpose-built next-generation firewall designed for small enterprise environments and distributed branch office deployments. Running Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) software natively, the appliance consolidates stateful firewall inspection, application visibility and control, intrusion prevention (IPS), URL filtering, and advanced malware protection (AMP) into a single compact 1U desktop form factor. The FTD image is managed either locally via Firepower Device Manager (FDM) or centrally at scale through Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), giving network security teams flexibility in operational posture.

The 1010 is equipped with eight built-in 1 Gbps Ethernet RJ-45 ports, one of which can operate as a dedicated management interface, alongside one RJ-45 console port and one USB 3.0 Type-A port. It supports Power over Ethernet (PoE+) on ports 7 and 8, enabling it to power downstream devices such as IP phones or access points without additional infrastructure. The hardware is fanless, meaning it operates silently and without moving parts, which is well suited to office environments where acoustic noise is a concern. A dedicated 50 GB SSD provides local event and logging storage.
