Broadcom VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) Per Core Subscription

Broadcom VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) is a per-core subscription licensing model for virtualization infrastructure, replacing perpetual VMware licensing. VVF provides access to vSphere Hypervisor, vCenter Server, and core management capabilities required for enterprise data center operations, delivered on a subscription basis measured per physical CPU core.

The per-core subscription model applies licensing to the physical processor cores in the host systems, enabling enterprises to standardize licensing across heterogeneous hardware environments. VVF subscriptions include ongoing software updates, critical security patches, and technical support throughout the subscription term.

Designed for organizations migrating from perpetual VMware infrastructure licenses, VVF Foundation serves as the baseline virtualization subscription tier, supporting enterprise production workloads, development and test environments, and disaster recovery infrastructure.

Ideal for

• Production hypervisor and virtual machine management in enterprise data centers transitioning to subscription licensing
• Development and test environment virtualization supporting application development lifecycle management
• Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) deployments using vSphere as the underlying hypervisor platform
• Disaster recovery and business continuity infrastructure for off-site replication and failover operations
• Multi-tenant hosting and cloud-adjacent infrastructure for managed service provider operations
• Legacy application consolidation and x86 server virtualization modernization initiatives
