The APC Rack PDU 2G Switched 11.5kW 3PH 230V 21-Outlet (AP8861) is a second-generation intelligent rack power distribution unit engineered for three-phase power environments operating at 230V. Built around a 32A three-phase input delivered via an IEC 309 3P+N+G connector, the unit distributes up to 11.5kW across 21 individually switched IEC 320 C13 outlets, enabling administrators to remotely power cycle hung devices, sequence startup loads, and shed non-critical outlets without physical access to the rack. Each outlet is independently controllable through the embedded network management interface, making the AP8861 a foundational component for lights-out data center operations.

The AP8861 integrates APC's second-generation network management card architecture, providing SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Telnet, SSH, HTTP, and HTTPS management access out of the box. Real-time metering at the unit level reports current (amps) and power consumption, supporting capacity planning and power budget enforcement across high-density compute, storage, and networking deployments. The unit also supports user-configurable current threshold alarms, enabling proactive alerts before circuits approach overload conditions. An integrated environmental monitoring port allows connection of APC's AP9335T or AP9335TH temperature and humidity sensors, extending the unit's visibility beyond electrical parameters.
