Integrated current metering at the input branch level allows operations teams to monitor load in real time via the built-in display, enabling proactive capacity management and preventing costly over-provisioning or unplanned outages.

The second-generation (2G) intelligence platform embedded in the AP8865 provides network-accessible monitoring through a dedicated RJ-45 Ethernet management port, exposing real-time amp, volt, and watt readings through a web interface, SNMPv1/v3, and Telnet/SSH. The unit supports APC's ecosystems including StruxureWare Data Center Expert and EcoStruxure IT for centralized fleet monitoring across large environments. Outlet-level switching is not included in this metered variant, maintaining a straightforward, reliable distribution architecture preferred in environments where simplicity and density take precedence over granular outlet control.
