The APC NetShelter SX 42U Colocation Rack (AR3104) is a 750mm wide, 1070mm deep open-frame-style enclosed cabinet engineered for high-density server, storage, and network deployments in colocation facilities and enterprise data centers. The 750mm width provides additional horizontal cable management space compared to standard 600mm enclosures, accommodating dense patch panel installations, structured cabling bundles, and side-by-side equipment arrangements common in multi-tenant colo environments. The robust steel frame supports a static load capacity of 1360 kg (3000 lbs), making it suitable for fully populated blade server chassis, high-density storage arrays, and heavy network switching equipment.

The NetShelter SX architecture features a tool-less, reconfigurable design with a removable side panel system, a split, locking rear door with mesh perforations for airflow, and a front mesh door to promote front-to-rear cooling airflow alignment with hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment strategies. Mounting rails are adjustable and compatible with standard 19-inch EIA-310 rackmount equipment. The enclosure ships with a cable entry brush strip at the top and bottom, integrated vertical cable managers on both sides of the interior, and pre-installed M6 cage nuts and screws to accelerate initial rack population.

Designed specifically for colocation environments, the AR3104 supports side-by-side rack deployments with bolt-together gang kits and is compatible with APC's broader NetShelter ecosystem of accessories including blanking panels, roof fan trays, power distribution units, and hot-aisle/cold-aisle containment kits.
