Acer Altos P550 F5 1U Pedestal / Short-Depth Server

The Acer Altos P550 F5 is a short-depth 1U rack server with a chassis depth under 500mm, making it an ideal choice for telecommunications equipment rooms, wall-mount cabinets, and industrial edge deployments where standard-depth servers cannot be accommodated. Built around a single Intel Xeon Scalable processor, it provides full server-class compute, ECC memory protection, and out-of-band management in a physically constrained form factor.

The P550 F5 supports up to 512GB of DDR5 ECC RDIMM across eight DIMM slots and accommodates up to six 2.5-inch hot-swap NVMe or SATA drives for local storage. Despite its compact depth, a full-height PCIe Gen 4 x16 slot accommodates a standard GPU or NIC, while an OCP 3.0 slot provides a second network expansion option. Dual redundant 1+1 power supplies deliver high availability even in space-constrained locations.

Management is handled by an integrated ASPEED AST2600 BMC with IPMI 2.0 and Redfish REST API support, enabling zero-touch provisioning and remote management from a central datacenter operations center. The P550 F5 is widely deployed by telecom carriers for edge vRAN (Virtualized Radio Access Network) workloads, by retail chains for in-store compute, and by industrial embedding enterprise-grade compute into machinery.
